We are so busy nowadays that we sometimes don’t even have time to take care of ourselves. You are probably familiar with the following image: You get up, you slam the alarm clock, you get your clothes on, and you are already rushing towards the door. No me time, no time spent on grooming and taking care of yourself – just wake up, it’s go time.
In fact, this is a pretty universal issue. From all around the globe, people deal with this problem constantly. No matter where you are in the developed world, our work and our busy schedules are taking over our lives. However, even if we do steal some time away in the morning, we still work long hours and can really stay fresh. For this reason, we have written up some rituals and pieces of advice that will definitely help you, at least a little bit, to stay fresh the entire day.
Early to bed, early to rise
This little piece of advice is perhaps the most important of all – you won’t get much done without it. Namely, we advise you get up nice and early, and have an hour to yourself. We understand that losing an hour of sleep is not that good for you, but early to be, early to rise, makes one healthy, wealthy, and wise. It will also give you a stress-free sixty minutes to really get on with your day exactly how you want it to start. Try to get used to going to bed a bit earlier – trust us, that extra one hour of Facebook can’t compete with having a nice jumpstart to your day.
Even outside of this article, our regular morning rituals will be more throughout, and more efficient, if we have time to do them properly.
Start the day with a workout
Even the shortest workout in the morning can help you wake up and elevate your energy levels. You can choose from yoga to high-intensity interval training. It will boost your blood flow, clear your head and increase the production of the feel-good hormones. This mean you will feel fresh and good the moment your day starts.
Never underestimate breakfast
Start with creating your healthy mornings by eating healthy food. Dont skip your breakfast. It is why is important not to skip it even when you are too lazy to prepare it. You can prepare this meal a day before while cooking dinner.
H20 and you should be pals
First of all, you want to have a lot of water throughout the entire day. We’re talking H20 all the time. This will help hydrate your body, it will make your skin smoother and clearer, and will actually help you avoid the common symptoms of slight dehydration. Namely, fatigue, clamminess, even low-level depression can all be caused by not drinking enough water. You will also just feel better if you drink enough. This is, of course, especially important during hot, humid days.
Ice, ice baby
We suggest you take as many showers as you can stand. Washing your face with cold water works too. Namely, for whatever strange reason, this just keeps you cool and refreshed. And the best part is that it’s carried with you the entire day.
Another thing you can try is a bidet. You know that fresh, wonderful feeling you have after a shower? And then, nature calls, and when you’re done, you just don’t feel that good again? Well, a bidet helps you avoid this, it’s much more hygienic, and it cleans your privates with water, instead of just using toilet paper. And if you think you can get these only in France and in fancy hotels, you are mistaken. You can find a good Australian bidet shop in the land down under as easily as you could find one in Paris.
Also try to keep ice in your water at all times. Trust us, the ice maker in your office rec room will be your best friend.
Get the right tools for war
War on clammy skin and humid weather, that is. We suggest you always carry a couple of times with you, and in general think about what you use. So, using fragrant soaps and antiperspirant deodorant are no brainers. However, we advise you do something extra.
For example, always carry deodorant with you at all times. Just excuse yourself to the bathroom a couple of times during the day and put on a new layer. Furthermore, carry a toothbrush, toothpaste, and some mouthwash with you as well. Brushing your teeth after every meal, even snack, can help you feel “cleaner” and more refreshed. Mouthwash is great if you don’t have the time to use your toothbrush.
And there you have it folks, some tips on how to feel sparkly and clean the entire day. Remember, it’s not just about complete hygiene, or the right products, but rather, about taking care of your body. Get enough sleep, and clean up your diet. Snack throughout the day, drink plenty of water, and have a nice, big breakfast.
